Hourly rate = Monthly salary ÷ 208 (26 days × 8 hours). Overtime = Hourly × 2 × overtime hours.
Is it compulsory to pay overtime?▼
Yes, under Factories Act 1948 and Minimum Wages Act. Withholding overtime pay is a criminal offence.
Maximum overtime allowed?▼
Under Factories Act: 50 hours per quarter. Total work including overtime should not exceed 60 hours per week.
Do IT employees get overtime?▼
