What is a Crypto ROI Calculator?
Crypto ROI measures the return on your cryptocurrency investment after accounting for exchange fees on both buy and sell sides. It gives you the true net return โ not just the price change.
Formula
Gross Profit = (Sell Price - Buy Price) x Quantity
Total Fees = (Buy Value x Buy Fee%) + (Sell Value x Sell Fee%)
Net Profit = Gross Profit - Total Fees
ROI = Net Profit / Buy Value x 100
Examples
US โ Buy 10 coins at $100, current price $250, 0.5% fees each way
Gross: $1,500 | Fees: $17.50 | Net: $1,482.50 | ROI: +148.3%
India โ Buy 100 SOL at Rs 7,000, now Rs 14,000, 0.2% maker fees
Gross: Rs 7,00,000 | Fees: ~Rs 2,800 | Net: Rs 6,97,200 | ROI: +99.6%
Example — Australia
A$5,000 in SOL at A$20 (250 SOL), sold at A$55. 50% CGT discount applies. Gross profit: A$8,750 | Taxable: A$4,375 | Net after tax: A$7,875 | ROI: 157.5%
Why Use This?
Always account for trading fees when calculating crypto returns. On large positions, fees can be significant. This calculator shows your true net return.
Which exchanges have the lowest fees?▼
Spot trading fees by exchange (approx): Binance 0.1% | Coinbase 0.5-1.5% | Kraken 0.16-0.26% | KuCoin 0.1% | Gemini 0.2-0.4%. Maker fees are usually lower than taker.
What is maker vs taker fee?▼
Makers add liquidity (limit orders) and pay lower fees. Takers remove liquidity (market orders) and pay higher fees. Using limit orders saves money on large trades.
How do fees affect long-term crypto returns?▼
On frequent trading, fees compound. A $10,000 portfolio traded 10 times per year at 1% fee pays $1,000+ in fees annually โ a massive drag on returns.
